Cambridge Lofts Penthouse
CAMBRIDGE LOFTS PENTHOUSE
Edmonton Architect Vivian Manasc’s downtown penthouse is a model for sustainable, well-designed living in the heart of a city. The 2,500 square-foot rooftop condo is actually the decommissioned mechanical room perched atop the 19-storey Cambridge Lofts building. We’re urbanites and designers, so we jumped at the opportunity to contribute to Vivian’s brilliant vision to revamp this unused space.
We first enclosed the one-of-a kind dwelling with custom teak benching. Vivian then asked us back to refine the sky-high patio space using cedar flooring made especially for outdoor spaces. The photos featured in the 2012 Dwell and 2013 Western Living articles about this unique home show how the patio looked before and how it is greatly enhanced with wood and craftsmanship.
It was a pleasure to work with Clark Builders and Vivian on this project. The added bonus, of course, was that we were surrounded by fabulous design, and breathtaking vistas of the city and river valley. It made us love Edmonton even more.
